What Are Some Natural Skin Care Methods for Teens?

Acne is caused by the overproduction of sebaceous glands in the face, chest and back. The overproduction of these glands is triggered by hormonal changes that teens usually experience at the brink of puberty. If bacteria is present to promote infections, the condition can get worse. This will then result in inflammation and scars. With that said, skin blemishes and mild acne cases can be treated by natural skin care. Companies promote products they claim to be natural for acne treatment, but sometimes these products only have a small amount of natural and consist of chemicals to rid of acne.
Be Careful What You Eat
Consuming fatty and greasy foods at the start of puberty, when one is most susceptible to acne, may also contribute to the cause. Anything that is consumed by the body, such as food and drinks, can have an affect on the presence of acne. Limiting the amount of fat and grease intake and having a balanced diet is a natural skin care method that has proven to be effective. Drinking the recommended eight glasses of water daily is another natural skin care technique. This helps flush out impurities and toxins which may contribute to the dreaded skin condition. High sugar levels can also be a factor leading to acne, so limiting the consumption of drinks high in sugar is encouraged.

Acne can also be managed and controlled by the utilization of ointments and herbal washes. Tea tree is an herb that has antibacterial properties which can halt the progress of the bacteria in the skin. This will help in the prevention of pimples, which are are oozing and full of pus. Another option for natural skin care is to use products which have pine pollen extract, burdock root extract or burbinella extract.
